My journey to being a Toilet Expert
As soon as I was big enough my Dad had me helping him by getting tools out of his toolbox. From an early age I would sit quietly practicing cutting copper pipe until I was needed to hold something, fetch something or go crawling under floorboards. No this wasn’t the 19th century but the 1970’s. Admittedly, being the son of a plumber does not qualify me as a toilet expert but as my career has progressed I now find myself the owner of a washroom services company and a bit of an authority on children’s hand hygiene and toilet equipment.
My aim is to highlight exceptional toilet design. Talk about issues around toilets and children as well as highlight good and bad practise in the industry – for those that have stumbled upon this ‘sector’ it is worth conservatively £500million+ in the UK alone. The key areas are sanitary and nappy waste disposal, consumables such as soap and toilet paper as well as serviced equipment and services. We will examine particular pieces of equipment such as hand dryers as well as service companies themseves and some of the ‘tricks of the trade’. I hope this can become an online resource for anyone with issues with toilets either public or in the workplace and I will endeavour to provide impartial advice – however where there is a conflict of interest I will highlight and explain my position. I may also throw in some toilet humour. Please feel free to contact me with issues and questions and I will reply.
